There is something that a lot of people don’t realize that Google is paying attention to. It is your user’s behavior while they are on your site.

If users are clicking from the search engine results to your site, and then clicking back soon after arriving … your site is going to be hard to have a good ranking for. If people visit your site and then stay there for a while, you are in a good position to get ranked well.

Why? Stop and think about it. What does this metric tell Google? If people stay at your site, they are obviously interested in it. If they are interested, your site must be good because … IT HAS HELD THEIR ATTENTION!

This is one metric Google can see and rank you on that is difficult to manipulate. Matter of fact, the only real way to manipulate this is to create create content that people stay at your site to read … that isn’t exactly manipulating your rank … it is doing exactly what Google wants … and that is to have site’s with good content in their database.
